When his first child was born, Casey W. was “on the grind,” as he puts it. After acquiring his father’s business, he worked day and night to keep the business running smoothly. He was responsible for running all the seminars and appointments during the week and would log hours on the weekend doing operations and administrative work.
“I would show up at the office in the dark; I’d leave in the dark,” said Casey. “I wasn’t there as a family man. I wasn’t there as an intentional father and intentional husband, and I wasn’t taking care of my own health.”
He was quickly becoming burnt out but wasn’t sure how to create the change he needed – or if it was even possible. Before joining Advisors Excel, he had assumed that working 50-60 hours a week and doing almost everything himself was mandatory to grow, generate revenue, and accomplish the goals he had set for himself.
“I felt like I only had two options in that moment. One option was to continue to grow and scale my business, build something epic, and sacrifice my health, family, and faith along the way,” he said. “Or I could step away from work. I could retire, sit back, and focus all my time and energy on my family.”

“When we started with Advisors Excel, we were probably doing $15 or $20 million,” said Casey. “Today, we have over 50 team members in four different markets, and we’re doing business in the $200 to $300 million range.”
While his business continues to grow significantly year over year, even more important for Casey is that his freedom of time continues to grow simultaneously. Today, he’s able to spend more time with his family, attending his three children’s numerous sporting events, taking family vacations, and simply being present in their lives – while getting in a few rounds of golf when the mood strikes.
“It’s gotten to the point where I don’t know what to do after Tuesday,” he joked before continuing, “Advisors Excel opened my eyes to what was really possible,” he said. “Not just financial goals but making a larger impact in the world that I had never thought was possible.”
According to Casey, realizing what was truly possible changed him in such a way that he no longer has an endgame of either retiring or selling the business. He’s able to do all the things he loves in and outside of the business while it continues to grow and make a bigger impact in the world – without sacrificing his family or health.
