Going Above and Beyond
We believe our responsibility extends beyond our business.
We believe our responsibility extends beyond our business.
We’ve known success as a company primarily through two factors:
Now, we want to expand that culture and that principle, as well as the success they create, to helping improve the communities in which we and our clients live and work. That means accepting responsibility to help address some of the most pressing problems facing those communities, and providing opportunities for those who work with us to do the same.
Starting in 2016, Advisors Excel has made a commitment to deploying a group of approximately 50 employees one afternoon a week to help in the community. Whether it’s helping at the local food bank, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, assisting with neighborhood cleanup efforts or helping organize and staff community events, Advisors Excel will donate roughly 5,000 hours of volunteer time to its home community every year. Because we believe in making an impact — for our clients and those they serve, and for our communities.
In 2015, Advisors Excel committed $500,000 to Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, to provide 5 million meals across the country over the next five years. Half of the funds will go directly to the local Feeding America® member food bank in our local community of Topeka, Kansas. In addition, we’ve pledged to have our employees helping on a weekly basis at our local food bank and at other nonprofit organizations throughout our community.
We’ve taken our commitment to helping end the problem of hunger one step further by providing the financial professionals we work with the opportunity to partner with Feeding America® in a similar manner, helping to address hunger in their own communities.
Each year at our signature World Series of Sales event, we join with our top clients to give back and share our financial resources with one deserving organization. Since 2009, we’ve been able to raise more than $2 million to help incredible charities and amazing organizations around the country.
Together with its network of independent financial professionals, Advisors Excel helped raise $630,000 in 2017 to support research by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world’s largest voluntary non-profit dedicated to fighting blood cancers. The funds raised will support a research grant focused on efforts to find cures for blood cancers, specifically in the promising area of immunotherapy.
In 2016, Advisors Excel renewed a partnership with the United Service Organizations (USO) to help further its mission to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to our nation. Together with our network of independent insurance agents and financial advisors, we were able to donate $620,000 to help ensure the men and women of the U.S. military can stay connected to the people, places and things they love.
With a donation of $600,000, Advisors Excel and the independent financial professionals it works with helped the Make-A-Wish Foundation® fulfill the wish of a Walt Disney World vacation for multiple children in every state in the nation in 2015, and direct $100,000 to Make-A-Wish Kansas, serving Advisors Excel’s home community.
Advisors Excel first partnered with the United Service Organizations (USO) in 2013, when, together with the independent financial professionals it works with, the company raised a total of $225,000 to help the organization continue lifting the spirits of troops and military families around the world. In 2014, Advisors Excel again partnered with the USO to help provide our military heroes with a “touch of home.” That year, Advisors Excel’s founders presented the USO with a check for $300,000.
With a $115,000 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, Advisors Excel and the independent financial professionals it works with helped grant wishes to a number of children in the Los Angeles area in 2012.
In 2011, Advisors Excel and its top clients teamed up with New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and Payton’s “Play it Forward” Foundation to help restore the North Rampart Community Center in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The community center, a beacon of hope for the neighborhood, had been devastated by Hurricane Katrina. With a donation of $114,000, we were able to help restore this neighborhood treasure to more than 250 children and their families.
Joining forces with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in 2010, Advisors Excel and its top clients helped provide scholarship grants, counseling and immediate financial assistance to special operations personnel and their surviving family members with a donation of more than $70,000.
Joining with Hall of Fame basketball analyst Dick Vitale in 2009, Advisors Excel and its top clients raised more than $100,000 to help fund research to find cures for cancer through The V Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization created to honor Dick’s close friend, Jim Valvano.
We started a new holiday tradition in 2015, partnering with a local television station to grant one wish a day for each day between Thanksgiving and Christmas to members of the Topeka community in need.
Through the Season of Sharing program, we were able to replace a family’s mini-fridge with a family-sized refrigerator filled with food, help treat and eliminate the painful tooth infections preventing a first-grader from eating as she should, provide wheelchair ramps for seven area families, provide weighted blankets to help address the sensory issues and anxiety of four special needs children being raised by a single mother, give an elderly aviation lover who was stricken with cancer “one last flight” aboard a small jet aircraft and much, much more.
