The Founders

Cody Foster, Derek Thompson and David Callanan worked together at one of the largest corporately owned insurance marketing organizations in the country. After six years and having attained the highest levels of management, they decided to start Advisors Excel, an independently owned insurance marketing organization focused on helping agents increase their life and annuity business.

Cody spent over six years as the Director of Agent Marketing in a leading national firm, working with some of the top producers in the country and helping them refine their marketing and prospecting systems.

From there, he went to work for one of the countries largest and most established direct mail marketing companies to create selling and prospecting systems they could offer for their advisors. The seminar programs he has created are currently used by over 500 advisors across the country. After completing that project, he partnered with David and Derek to start Advisors Excel.

Cody has been featured in national publications such as Senior Market Advisor, Life Insurance Selling and Brokers World. He holds a series 7, life and health license and has his CLTC and CEPP designations.

Derek spent the past half decade working as an annuity specialist for a national marketing organization where he later became the Director of the newly formed Long Term Care division. He was instrumental in leading the development of that division to becoming one of the most successful LTC brokerages in the country.

Realizing a similar opportunity for success, Derek joined with David and Cody to form Advisors Excel. Derek is heavily involved in the local NAIFA chapter and is currently on the board of directors. He holds series 6, 63, 7, life and health licenses and carries his CLTC and CEPP designations.

David served as the Director of Annuities for one of the largest insurance marketing organizations in the country. Under his leadership, his division averaged over $700 million in direct annuity premium every year. He was a sought after speaker on the topic of equity indexed annuities and has spoken at some of the largest conventions in the country.

David was an active advisor in the Topeka community, where he averaged between $4-6 million in annuity sales each year. David holds a series 7, 63, and 24, life and health license.
